How To Perfectly Grill Your Panini
Using a Panini press is the ideal way to make a panini. Buying a good one that allows you to regulate the temperature and the amount of pressure applied to the sandwich are key in getting your sandwich just the way you want it. Using a dense or heavier bread is also best when making a panini, usually about 1/2 inch thick is best. Brushing the outside of the bread with olive oil or butter will produce a nice crispy bread. Pick your ingredients, meats, cheeses, and vegetables are the norm, but you can put anything you please in your panini. Overfilling is also key, overfilling will make your sandwhich leak as it’s being grilled and you probably won’t be happy with that. The right temperature is also important, a medium high temperature for a thinner panini, and for thicker sandwiches a lower temperature is best so that all the ingredients in your sandwich heat all the way through. When you place your panini in the press only apply enough pressure to make sure the entire sandwich is in contact with the grill. As the panini cooks and the cheese melts the sandwich will flatten further. Paninis are best eaten hot.
